KATHY GALES

I am a self- taught artist based in the Southeast of England. My ideas come from the natural and urban landscape in my local area as well as the Greek and Austrian scenery I regularly visit. I enjoy working with acrylic paint on clay board combining loose painterly techniques with fine detail and texture using scraper tools and sandpaper. Another avenue of artistic expression is collage and mixed media where I make use of innovative materials and recycled items.
My images have been used by Oxford Press and Derwent Art and I regularly exhibit in local galleries and online platforms. I am inspired by many other artists including Wyeth and Klimt and am an active member of Herts Visual Arts’ Society.
