This is my lovely grandson Coen. I was trying an experiment and wanted to give my painting a 3D effect. To achieve this I painted the background in acrylic paint, then covered it in a fairly thick layer of clear resin, I then painted the portrait in oil paint, and once it was dry I added a second layer of clear resin on the top. The layers do make the figure stand proud and it also creates a slight shadow on the background behind it.
