Old Cowboy is oil and acrylic on wooden board, the figure is painted in realistic detail to contrast with the simple graphic line that indicates the edge of the table. I like to mix colourful realism with monochromatic illustration to demonstrate intensity and depth, and to achieve this I applied the paint in several thin layers using brushes and my fingers to add texture and detail.
