The abstract landscape painting depicts movement, energy and vitality through the application and physicality of paint. Paint articulates with surface texture. Caligraphic gesture was created with oil paint straight from the tube. Paint was overlaid in layers giving depth and texture. In some areas the top layer of paint was removed . This created a visual effect of multi layers of texture as the underlying layers of pigment were made visible through the translucent top layer. The complexities of my painting are seen in the variations of textures and weights of painting.
