A drawing interpreting where the sea defence wall meets the cliffs at Whitby. I was interested in the contrast between the straight, uniform, imposing lines of the manmade sea defence and the movement in the changing, unstable, natural cliff. I used pencil to try and enhance this contrast between the different lines of the solid sea defence and fragile natural cliff. I also used pencil in one unified tone to enhance the idea of the two structures integrating together.
