I was interested in how the trees formed a ring of shelter around the reservoir bank, providing protection from the open moorland beyond. I used thin glazes of oil paint to try and represent the weathered and gnarled shapes and lines in the trees after being subject to the exposed location, the changeable weather conditions and the fluctuating water levels.
Produced in 2019.
