Perhaps a bit like Monet and his hay stacks, I seem to keep returning to this view of the Crummock valley in the Lake District. This is the first of 2 sketches I made at this location within a couple of days of each other during quite a showery week in July 2003. I seem to remember getting wet both times, but fortunately oil paintings can survive a bit of rain!
