Off this southern Scottish beach there lies this small, charismatic isle. It can be reached at low tide by visitors, who must then beware of being stranded by the rising tide, as I nearly was! I had the sense that there might once have been human presence there, perhaps some agricultural use. The last day of July 2020 was a fine one.
