My introduction to painting was when my parents bought me an oil painting set when I was 12 years old. By 18 I had works accepted into art exhibitions in London and two of my works were sold to an art publisher. I had no idea what had become of those paintings until years later I spotted one of them on the sit com 'Only Fools and Horses' hanging on the wall of the Trotter's flat. I have held solo art exhibitions in London and abroad and one of my exhibitions was inaugurated by a former first lady of Cyprus and was featured in newspapers and Cyprus national tv. My work has also featured in many national and local publications. I admire many great painters of the 18th and 19th centuries and feel my style of work has been influenced by these, amongst my favourites are the Italian artist Canaletto. I paint in oil, acrylic and watercolour and have the ability to paint almost any subject matter. Although I do occasionally paint in palette knife and acrylic and textures, my known style tends to be more realistic, but trying to avoid photo realism. I like to paint the sea, rocks and boats, snow figures and portraits in oil, although watercolour is a medium I enjoy using for portraits, architecture, figurative and landscape as it suits my style of painting. Commissioned work is shipped from UK, Europe and USA. I also teach from my home studio and always so excited to see my students’ finished artworks and their amazing progress.
