Director of Education for African-American Children prior to integration. She was the first African American to have held office at Atlanta City Hall. Founded Girls Scout Troup for African American Girls in Atlanta in 1943. Served as an educator for 50 years in Atlanta Public Schools. Atlanta named her Georgia Women of Achievement.
