About this artwork

These notorious fearless warriors (Norsemen) from Denmark, Norway and Sweden were well known for exploring, sea navigation and raiding. Not to mention the Dragon Ships/Drakkar were used to ward off evil spirits and navigate the open seas, and fend off any enemy trespassing on Viking territory. The Viking shields, spears and iron axes were mostly made up of iron. Ragnar Lothbrok was a legendary Viking, because he expanded Viking territory and improved imports and exports throughout Viking territory. He died a tragic death in a snake pit, and that is the tragedy that makes him the legendary warrior, sea navigator and explorer that he is today.

Did you know?
1. Santa Clause symbolises the Viking god "Odin."
2. Leif Erikson (Viking) founded Viking territory in North America (Vinland) before Christopher Columbus.

Vikings guarded their plunder, and guarded it for life. Chopping off heads was a way of life, to warn enemies that the Vikings were ruthless warriors.

Skål Ragnar Lothbrok and his Viking Crew! R.I.P Ragnar Lothbrok!
