I watched him cavort around the sand-school, reveling in an ecstatic awareness of his own physicality. I wanted to visually record his energy and movement.
This is a mixed-media work on very thin handmade paper. In producing this work I have exploited the serendipity of the delicate substrate’s reaction to wet media to create a setting for the drawing in pencil and charcoal. It is finished with gold leaf, to enhance the drama.
Framed in a wide polished wood frame
