Al Andaluz. Proud and magnificent, he is the senior stallion of a stud full of beautiful Spanish horses. He knows who he is.
This is a mixed-media work on thin Himalayan handmade paper. In producing this work I have exploited the serendipity of the delicate substrate’s reaction to wet media to create a setting for a drawing in pencil and charcoal. Gold leaf has been used to give the image a sense of opulence and majesty.
