This piece was painted while I was pregnant with my youngest child, now one and a half years old. Autumn has always been my favourite season, the colours speak for themselves. Here, I experimented with acrylic mediums and liquid gold paint to add another dimension to the painting.
Over the last few years, my work has been shifting towards a mixture of figurative and naive genres, where the figure is usually present in the landscape. For me, the two are inextricably linked. I like the viewer to have their own say in my artwork: is she sleeping, dreaming, perhaps even buried in the landscape? but at peace?
