This was a special commission to mark the 42nd anniversary of my local council, before they amalgmated into the now newer, bigger councils. The original painting is in the Town Hall/Mayor`s Offices and the piece was printed on the cover of a special celebratory magazine given out to thousands of homes in the area, and a special edition of giclée prints were awarded at a ceremony.
The hill in the background is Slemish, a local famous landmark, where it is said our patron Saint Patrick used to tend sheep!
