About this artwork

This is an artistic representation of the Chernobyl disaster tinted with melancolia
Despite the danger of staying the old russian lady does not want to leave her poor home.
I depicted a shabby room probably shaken by the nuclear explosion. The wallpaper is torn off showing the bricks of the walls. The atmosphere is sad but made happier with the red of the apron and the green of the head cover.
The cat looks frightened and hides under the wooden stool. The day light shines from the door on the left wall and the right of the room is darker,
There is no electricity of course. A little romantic touch is giving by a modest vase of poet's narcissus.
I used the ' wet on dry' technique to paint this watercolour.it is 0ainted on 300g/m2 cold pressed paper.
