LINDA BIRKINSHAW

Hi, I'm and artist and illustrator and have created many children's books and paintings for jigsaws and greetings cards. Loving painting I try all mediums, but mainly I like things bright and colourful. I use gouache for my illustrations and more recently have flirted with acrylics to get some knock out abstract effects.
Art is trial and error, and like most artists I have changed my style and subject matter over my career. After art college I worked on portraits, then greetings cards, then pop-up books. My love of animals, the countryside and humour led to my Country Comicals range of greetings cards where I draw cartoons to show life in the Yorkshire countryside.
