Formerly in New Zealand a university lecturer in English and Drama, I retired to York in 1995 where I joined several art organisations including the York Art Society and the SAA. Since taking two year-long courses in Printmaking at York College, I have specialised in wood and lino cuts and am now moving into the demanding field of wood engraving. My subjects at present include the plays of Shakespeare and medieval mystery plays, York, and the Yorkshire landscape. I have a small garden studio where I hand-print my designs either by rubbing or on a small book-press depending on the size of the image. Editions therefore are usually limited to 20 prints.
