My work is about the meeting point where the outside world meets the inner one. I often start with observational drawing and then bring colour and texture in to express my response to what I see. At other times I begin with no specific idea and paint intuitively drawing out that which is within. I studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and Eastbourne College of Art and Technology. In recent years I taught art at Central Sussex College, the Adult Education Centre in East Grinstead, and the Ashdown Gallery in Forest Row.  I was the tutor at the St John's Watercolour Group at Felbridge and did demonstrations and workshops for art clubs in the South East. I am now self employed and teaching two painting classes at Peredur in East Grinstead.  In 2001 I founded Art22, now in its seventeenth year; the group has been well received by the public and artists alike for their strong and diverse work. I have exhibited all over the South East, including several exhibitions at Chequer Mead in East Grinstead, I have been a regular participant in The Eastbourne Open Studios and the Lingfield Exhibition and well as exhibiting at The Crypt in Seaford, the Thebes Gallery in Lewes, and Planahead in Eastbourne. I have also exhibited at the Ashdown Gallery in Forest Row. I have a studio where I regularly work.
