This is my most recent painting - Feb ‘24 It follows on from workshops with Paul Bailey, who uses graphic design and illustration techniques to map out thirds of the canvas and uses a limited but colourful palette to draw the eye into the painting. Here I have been experimenting with opacity, line, brushwork and scratching into the paint. I have smudged and removed some hard edges. This leads to some obvious and deliberate choices that at the same time present as random and abstract, for me, referring my pst work in visual performance and the stage.
