Born and bred in Flanders, French side, I studied art history and archaeology both at university and the Ecole du Louvre. I specialized in Asian Art and traveled extensively in Asia. I have now been working as a guide and lecturer for the Réunion des Musées Nationaux-Grand Palais for more than 30 years. Daily contact with the masterpieces of the Musée d'Orsay led me to pick up the brush myself as a self taught artist . I have a particular liking for watercolour and pastel, but I have recently ventured in the realm of inkwash and charcoal and find their versatile nature quite challenging. Landscapes, flowers and animals take first place in my production. My major source of inspiration is Ireland, closely followed by Scotland and now Wales where I went for the first time in 2016.
