I drew this on the spot at Poole Quay in the spring, just before the Maritime Festival. I was in the middle of another drawing, when the cadets all lined up and began to pass boxes along, so I drew this as fast as I possibly could. They probably took 15 or 20 mins at the most, so I had to work like crazy, but that is ideal. I used an old architect's dip pen of my grandpa's, and a large brush, and some ink and water. I am currently making a large woodcut of this. This picture is on display at The Forest Arts Centre, New Milton, Hampshire in my solo exhibition until 22nd Dec 2017.
