Mark Simpson

I am a Cambridgeshire based Graphite/Carbon Pencil Artist, tutor specialising in Local British Wildlife with a personal touch. My journey began at an early age and while I was educated in Technical Illustration in My formative years I always held an affinity for Portraiture and the humble pencil. After over a decade away from the Arts I revisited My passsion in 2012 and embarked on quite a successful career as a Portrait Artist, specializing in people.
Largely self taught in this dicipline with over 200 hundred commissions sold to date. I took a three year break and returned in 2022 looking for a new challenge.
Although very much in its infancy I have started Drawing local British wildlife and taking Pet commissions.

My Artwork is described as Photorealistic and I generally work on 'Strathmore 300 series bristol board, Vellum surface. 14" x 17" is My preferred size although I occasionally size up to 19" x 24" inches.
