The life drawing gives you a chance to look at someone’s eyes deeply, understand his personality. How this character develops in your own mind by your own perception. Artist and model are usually one in this situation. I love to experience this intimacy when I paint model and get completely engrossed in process.
Also technically the idea behind attempting this painting came from luminosity. It was real delight to see how reflections work on human skin. How face glows from dark to light.
His bold facial structure drew my attention to paint his head, deep eyes…
For my experience this painting taught me how to handle big masses and bold structure very carefully.
And a very interesting personality derived from this endeavour! I would love to call him my life model!
