I sometimes make social statements with my work. My biggest concern is the state of the planet and how future generations, even those already born, are going to cope if we don't make a better job of looking after our fragile planet. Before humans it wasn't fragile. It worked on a balanced evolving arrangement which is rapidly being tipped onto its side, resulting in extinctions, climate change and ever more difficult living conditions for the poorest of the world.
This piece uses my child drawing (that's how I like to draw imagining I was six years old again), and a very striking well known symbol. Here it stands for all pollution and decay, not just radiation. The red around the image is very suggestive of blood but is also a warning colour.
