I am a professional self-taught artist and developed my talent through observation of nature, reading books and lots of practice. I paint mainly watercolours of a range of subjects including snow scenes, whimsical animals, dogs, cats, flowers, country cottages and gardens inviting the viewer into a magical world. I've been specialising in ACEOs (miniature paintings) They are a mix of collectable scenes that has attracted fans worldwide and invoke memories of times gone by. My inspiration comes from the beautiful countryside in Hampshire where I live and from Victorian nostalgia. I paint prolifically and in 2000 started marketing and selling my work online via my website www.pamwest.co.uk and online auction sites. My work has been purchased by customers worldwide and I have hundreds of paintings in collections all across the USA as well as the UK, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Australia, Spain and Japan. In 2006 my art was commissioned for publication in a national UK magazine for the W.I. I painted a series of 8 large watercolours which were published throughout the year. My art has also been published by companies on greeting cards and calendars. I have been working with Joanna Sheen crafts and produced 2 CDs of my art for use on greeting cards and this has been selling on Ideal World and Create and Craft TV. Customers email to tell me that my work makes them feel happy and receiving one of my paintings brings them joy and looking at their collection of my work gives them pleasure.
