Was it because of the date that today's painting adventure had a couple of hitches? Maybe, but I did manage an outdoor sketch about a month earlier than I did last year. I forgot my camera though, so no "on site" picture this time. The only record is the painting, so I had to concentrate! It was a bit windy, but I found some shelter behind a large clump of gorse for the 4 hours (including coffee & some lunch) by Crummock Water near Low Ling Crag, which is seen reaching out into the Lake. I liked the way Fleetwith Pike & co. seemed to rise from Crummock, an illusion as in fact Buttermere intervenes. The sun went in towards the end, but the wind persisted, so it was a chilly finish.
