About this artwork

There is a Turner hanging in Tate Britain which I think he must have made close to this spot. Turner's canvas has a heavy shower and a rainbow, but you can make out the distinctive shape of Fleetwith Pike towering over the lake. My oil sketch was made on a sunny day in July 2005.
