An Indian Summer in 2008 gave me the chance to make this oil sketch of Derwentwater and Catbells (the main peak, centre right). It can be seen that the sun was quite low in the sky. If I have just one thing in common with Monet, it may be that I have often been engaged in a battle with the sun!
