At the moment, this painting can be viewed at Lowes Court Gallery, Egremont, Cumbria.
I painted this sketch on a warm September afternoon in 2009. The Ennerdale Valley is quite remote and a bit off the tourist trail by comparison with some Lakeland valleys. The grand peak on the left is Pillar. The Pillar Rock can just be made out, perched on its northern ridge. The small peak in the middle of the skyline is Steeple.
