About this artwork

Just a week's holiday in the Outer Hebrides in 2007 gave the chance for 2 plein air sketches and many photos, which I have since used to make small paintings like this one. I would love to re-visit Barra one day. This painting shows the machair, the pristine sand, and the rich colours of the sea on one of those special sunny days in the Scottish Isles.
