There is a Turner in Tate Britain showing a similar view to this. Turner has a heavy shower sweeping into the valley, but the distinctive shape of Fleetwith Pike can be seen towering over the Lake. My plein air sketch was made on a sunny day in 2005. The buttresses of Haystacks are seen to the right, and rising behind them on the extreme right is the dome of Great Gable. It is presented in the frame shown.
