Gannets off the coast of Shetland. I've often seen these impressive seabirds diving from the sky, hunting for fish with those spear-like beaks. This is usually a sight enjoyed from a boat when skirting remote rocks, beaten by the waves. In Shetland, the plein-air painter might see them passing as he makes his seascape on a fine day.
