I qualified as a Corporate Member of The British Institute of Professional Photography in my early twenties. I won professional awards in Industrial, Advertising and Fashion photography, but I concentrated on Industrial photography.
I specialised in photographing deep mining operations, explosive and hazardous environments. Many aspects of my professional photographic career have taken me to hard, grim, unrelentingly hazardous and dangerous places, but now it is the coastal landscape of Yorkshire where I live which inspires me.
Through painting and photography, I simply want to enjoy interpreting my emotional experience with a subject, and to appreciate the beauty in life.
I have exhibited Paintings in The Wolds Gallery, The Treasure House Gallery in Beverley, The Ferens Gallery in Hull, Scarborough Art Gallery, National Trust Nunnington Hall, 'Inspired-By' Gallery at The National Parks North Yorkshire Moors Centre & Goole Museum & Art Gallery.
