SENSUALITY 4: Beware of an Adulterous woMAN

“For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil;
“Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave.
Keep to a path far from her, do not go near the door of her house”.
Proverbs 5 verse 3, 5, 8.

We live in an enchanting world; lots of things are being used to get our attention. Pornographic images no longer stay in dirty magazines on the top selves at the shops out of reach of the hands of innocent children but quickly land in the palms of their hands via the everyone-must-have gadget called the mobile phone. Young and old are being lured into the lives of crime and to their early deaths through the seductive images from their digital devices. These are what influenced O Yemi to illustrate some of the warnings from the book of Proverbs in the Bible with the title, “SENSUALITY 4: Beware of an Adulterous woMAN.”
O Yemi intentionally wrote the word WOMAN in the title as woMAN to indicate that the problem of sensuality involves both sexes. In the Bible women caught in adultery were sentenced to death by stoning; what about men? The strongest man in the Bible’s strength was not matched to the seductive strength of the woman who betrayed him. The wisest man in the Bible lost his sense of reasoning due to his unhealthy appetite for exotic women worldwide. Men in power in our own world are still falling prey to the seductive power of women.
Sex is natural and it is a God’s given gift but an abuse of it is dangerous and deadly.
