About this artwork

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. Psalm 139 verse 14 (NIV)

This painting- “REFLECTION” is one of the works that I created to illustrate encouraging words from the Holy Bible. Standing in front of a mirror before we put anything on, we are bare naked naturally. Going out, we dressed up and suits up to reflect to the world as beautiful and handsome people. We reflect the rosy side of ourselves, and our thorny side is concealed.
Metaphorically we often stand in front of other mirrors that reflect different kinds of images. The world mirrors may reflect back to us images that depend on what we possess or what we do not possess. Sometimes we reflect to the world the images of good physical appearance, achievements, positions, and possessions. Losing those images may result in mental health issues and low self-esteem. Bible says “. . . Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Luke 12 verse 15 (NIV)
Regardless of what we wear, achieve, and possess, the word of God is the truth “We are fearfully and wonderfully made.” We should believe this and know that this is the truth to have healthy mental health.
