“God save our gracious Queen! Long live our noble Queen! God save the Queen! Send her victorious, Happy, and glorious, Long to reign over us, God save the Queen.”
God has indeed answered the prayers often sung by the British and the people of Commonwealth nations in honour of the most famous Queen in the world by granting her longevity and making her the longest reign monarch in the world. In line with the theme of my works – the Fact of life; Roses and Thorns, Queen Elisabeth II has been enjoying the sweet rosy aroma of the pleasantness of life. Despite her Rosy Reign, her rosy life is not without some thorns and the thorniest episode of her life is the death of the love of her life – her “Comic Companion” of 73 years – her “beloved Philip.” This is what influences this work – Her Majesty Platinum Jubilee: Her Rosy Reign.

Prince Philip had been the pillar of support for Queen Elisabeth II throughout the 69 years of her reign. His sense of humour was one of the sources of ENERGY that gave the Queen strength during the thorny times of her life. In this painting, I am depicting that Prince Philip is still backing the Queen behind the curtain of death that did them part.
