About this artwork

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2Chronicles 7:14

In the good times the New York is called “The City that Never Sleep.” Darkness engulfed the cityscape of the Big Apple - the New York as she recorded the highest cases of coronavirus and death in a single city in the world. The city that never sleep is now as if she is in her death sleep- the city roads are empty and dead-silent. This painting “The Big Apple SOS” was done in solidarity with the people of New York.

The Statue of Liberty is one of the iconic landscapes of New York City; standing tall and proud with her torch raised high as shown in the cityscape at the background of this painting. Seeing her city and her people been devoured by the deadly worm- coronavirus; as a grieving Woman, she dropped her torch, dropped her tablet and dropped on her knees praying for the souls of the dead and the salvation of the living. This depicts her response to the call of God to everyone in the Holy Bible quotation at the top of this artist statement. Running down the rotten side of the Apple are the tears shed in mourning the death of dearly loved departed souls.

This painting is in Solidarity for All in general and the people of New York in particular. God’s call is for everyone to humbly pray not only for the Big Apple but for the whole world. We all need to be humble and continue to pray that God will heal our world and vanquish the killer worm - coronavirus as the world leaders so far are powerless to subdue coronavirus.
