Hello. I've been working as an interior design consultant in the UK, France, Middle East, US & China for over 30 years, creating & reviving private residences, offices, shops, night clubs & restaurants. I've always been a keen painter & sculptor & having recently found myself with some spare time from my 'day job' during the Covid lockdown, I decided to take my passion more seriously & focus on creating artworks derived from my love of nature & the fragile but beautiful world that surrounds us, mainly focussing on endangered species. I don't put any boundaries on the materials that I utilise & paint on wood, Perspex & other materials using acrylic paints, inks & powder pigments. My images are not exact replicas but my homage to all the beauty & diversity that nature offers us. Regarding my sculptures, these borne from the 'found objects' that have come my way through work projects. I like to re-imagine them in a new form using micro-lighting & incorporating new surface textures & colouring. I do hope that you enjoy browsing through my work. Michael Collins.
