A highly detailed study of Iris blossoms set against a dark green colour-washed background. In this painting I explored the exquisite veining on the falls of the iris petals. I used techniques such as wet on wet, dry on wet, dry brush, resist, sponging and small details in colour pencil in creating this piece. The sculptural forms of the blooms stand out well from the dramatically coloured background. This painting is unframed but mounted and backed with a professionally cut acid free mount to fit a frame size of 12 x 16 inches. The mount is a neutral pale cream / ivory colour that will suit most home decor. It will arrive with a signed certificate of authenticity.
