Linda Wright

Like most artists I’m at my happiest with a pencil or paintbrush in my hand! I don’t remember a time when I didn’t paint or draw but raising a family and working full time always interrupted any artist ambitions I had.

Since retiring, however, I have immersed myself in all aspects of art from portrait and life studies, though floral studies, still life and landscape. I am happiest working in oil but have loved exploring portraiture through watercolour and am currently enjoying the potential of acrylics. As far as I am concerned, no media is out of bounds and given enough time and money I would throw myself into every aspect of art.

Recently, I was invited to introduce a small group of friends to painting. As complete beginners none of us really knew where this would go but they have the bug and I now regularly teach a full class of enthusiastic beginners. Painting has always been fun but being able to share your passion with others has been a gift I never expected!
