I have painted a fair few animals, in particular dogs, and this is probably my favourite. She's called Meg and passed away a few years ago. She was a much-loved family dog and being a sheep dog, extremely clever and in my view extremely gorgeous. I wanted to catch her mischieviousness and intellegence in the portrait and hope I did her justice. What a beauty she was.
