About this artwork

This moment in time was captured on our return home from a driving holiday in France last summer. As I watched everyone settle down doing their thing, be it reading, on devices, eating, drinking and basically killing time before the drive starts again on English soil, I was attracted to not only the composition but the narrative it told and the many questions it raised - where has everyone been? Where are they going? Did they have a good time? Are some of the people Europeans coming to holiday in UK? Will she take her feet off the table? The list of questions that went through my head was endless. So I took a snap.

Originally, there was a magazine on the table right in front of me but I changed it to some yummy croissants, doughnuts, pain au chocolat and drinks for more interest. They are littered throughout the composition towards the lad and dad reading,

* The feet were duly removed pronto, but not before I’d taken my snap!

Size is 12” x 12” (for those who prefer to work in old money) and is on canvas board. Unframed.
