This lovely little boat like Lancashire's answer to the Clyde Puffer regularly ploughs its way along the rivers Douglas and Ribble between Lytham and Tarlton. Making its way up the river douglas after an overnight in Lytham St. Annes. My boat and this boat were like ships that pass in the night. For years, on the rivers Ribble and Douglas, bound by the tides we always seemed to be going in different directions, although our moorings were less than a mile apart.
It is an eye catching and busy little boat, and I decided to paint it in a way that reflects my fleeting glimpses as it rounds the bend ahead.
