Painting for me is mostly about creating atmosphere, capturing and holding the ?magic? of that moment. How I do that is secondary, most important is to communicate my response however, I am perhaps best known for my atmospheric landscapes and cityscapes in pastel.
As a keen walker, I have always loved to explore our beautiful British countryside and in latter years I have travelled widely. Sketches and photographs from these journeys have inspired much of my work. I am greatly involved with art groups as a tutor and demonstrator, details can be found on my web site www.janerhodes.co.uk
I have exhibited widely and my paintings have been selected for open exhibitions including the Society of Women Artists and the Pastel Society at the Mall Galleries in London. My work is shown at The Norton Way Gallery, Letchworth and the Bedford Street Gallery, Woburn.
