Drawn with Nitram charcoal on Fabriano paper. The reference source was taken from the front cover of The Jerusalem Post, September 2022, in a special issue on the 50 most influential Jews. Zelensky was top of the list. The photo (photographer uncredited) was shot in brilliant lights and darks, and captured Zelensky in eager conversation. This is the third portrait I have drawn on Zelensky this year. Charcoal is a very expressive medium for drawing, and lends itself to emotional interpretations.
