When I was asked by Dee to undertake a portrait of her labrador Milo, we went to her home to take photographs of him for reference. He was inside the living room and this completed pet portrait is one of my favourites with the light catching his coat, and the details of the fur here being highlighted because of that light from the window. As with all my artworks, I have used soft pastel for the background and pastel pencils for those details on Artspectrum Colourfix pastel paper.
