I was approached by Paula, who had purchased pastel artworks from me previously, to undertake a portrait of her niece's terrier Dave. I loved this photograph of him as it showed his character, even while lying under a chair watching the world go by. This portrait was created using Rembrandt soft pastels for the background broad strokes and a mixture of Derwent, Cretacolor and Faber-Castell pastel pencils for the details. The paper I used here was Artspectrum Colourfix pastel board.
