This pastel painting of a hedgehog was created for a charitable auction to support animal conservation around the world. It is hoped the auction will take place in July 2021. The photographic reference, that I worked from, was purchased from Dreamstime.com and taken by Coatsey Coatsey. As will all my artworks, I have used soft pastel and pastel pencils on Artspectrum colourfix pastel paper. The details and the layers of pastel are meant to give a 3D effect to the completed painting - I like to think I achieved this here.....
