This lady attends a local Day centre for the elderly and she told me her story. She was born in Sudetenland, at the end of the war. her parents had died and her brothers at that time were missing. She answered a newspaper advertisement asking for workers to go to work in the cotton mills in Lancashire,she was 19 and has lived in Britain ever since.
